The Maintenance and Operations Departments at the Fargo Park District employ more than 230 full and part-time employees. The team is comprised of a talented group of arborists, golf course and turf management, maintenance and operations professionals who are responsible for the care of: 

The sun is setting on another Fargo Golf season and the Fargo Park District is closing all public courses. 
Rosecreek and Edgewood Public Golf courses will close on Sunday, October 30, 2022. The final tee time at Rosecreek will be 4:40 pm. The final tee time at Edgewood will be 4:20 pm. Pro Shops will close by 5:30 pm at both courses. 
Osgood, Prairiewood and El Zagal Public Golf Courses have been closed since Sunday, October 16.  
All dates and times are subject to change due to weather. 

The Fargo Park District Board of Commissioners met today to review the recommendations for two new Deputy Director positions. With a unanimous vote, the board voted to approve the promotion of Dave Bietz as the new Deputy Director of Operations and the hiring of Susan Faus as the new Deputy Director of Administration.

The Trollwood Park Disc Golf Course landed an exciting update thanks to a generous donation from the Cass Clay Disc Golf Club. The club purchased 18 disc golf baskets as a gift to Trollwood Park to update the existing 18-hole course.  

Every year on October 10, the World Health Organization recognizes World Mental Health Day. 
This year’s theme is to “make mental health and wellbeing for all a global priority” – a mantra that perfectly falls in line with the Fargo Park District’s ongoing work to provide access to outdoor space, recreational activities and community gathering places, all of which have shown to be helpful to improved mental health outcomes.

At tonight’s monthly Fargo Park Board Meeting, the Fargo Park District elected new officers.  Commissioner Dawn Morgan was elected President of the Park Board and Commissioner Joe Deutsch was elected Vice President of the Park Board. Officers are elected from the board at large to serve in the role for one year.

The Fargo Parks Sports Center is a facility that addresses a critically unmet need for indoor recreation facilities available in the Fargo community. This facility is expected to attract over 600,000 visitors annually and hold 45 plus community events and sports tournaments a year.

Event Update: Due to low registration numbers, Frozen Business Showdown is cancelled. The event will no longer be held on January 28.

The Fargo Park District is hosting, Frozen Business Showdown, an event where teams battle for points in eight fun, outdoor winter activities with a twist!  

The Fargo Park District is opening Mickelson Sledding Hill today, December 17 from 4:00-8:00 pm and Edgewood Chalet tomorrow, December 18 from 12:00-8:00 pm.  
Edgewood Chalet offers cross country ski and snowshoe rentals, trails and a sledding hill. Cross country ski rentals are $7.50 for youth and $14.00 for adults. Snowshoe rentals are $7.50. All equipment must stay on-site at Edgewood Public Golf Course.
