Fargo Parks Weddings

This image shows a wedding at Island Park.

Looking for a unique venue for your upcoming wedding? If you’re a fan of the outdoors or are looking for an intimate setting, consider getting married in a park. You can hold a wedding at the following Fargo parks:

  • Island Park Gazebo

  • Trollwood Park (5 venue options)

  • Urban Plains Park

  • Rheault Farm (full site)

If one of these locations sounds perfect for you, contact the Fargo Park District offices to ask about availability and regulations for the park. You can find the rental form with venue details and fees here.

What to consider when planning a Park Wedding:

Rental reservations open for the year on January 4. This means you’re not able to reserve your site more than a year in advance. Payment is due when making your reservation. The Fargo Park District has a no refund policy.

If Mother Nature is having a bad day, it may translate into a rain-soaked ceremony site. Keep this in mind when planning your ceremony. While the majority of potential park ceremony sites in Fargo include a shelter or covered space that will help keep you dry in case of rain, not all do. The Fargo Park District also does not allow tents regardless of weather conditions.

If you are planning to rent a PA system or have amplified sound, you are subject to additional permits through the Fargo Parks. Sound is only permitted for 2 hours. Filling out a Sound Permit is required. Be sure to ask about the noise ordinance when finalizing your rental.

Let guests know where to find you by including detailed directions with your invitations. Be specific about where they should assemble: "The Barn Stage located in the east part of Trollwood Park"—not "Trollwood Park." Posting free standing signs in the park is allowed, but they must be removed immediately following the ceremony.

The shelters and most of the covered spaces include picnic tables as part of the rental. These tables cannot be removed from the venue for a ceremony. The outdoor sites such as Barn Stage and Amphitheater at Trollwood and Gazebo at Island Park do not have seating provided. Chairs can be rented from an outside rental company and carried in from the parking lot.

Alcohol is not allowed at the Island Park Gazebo, Urban Plains Gazebo, Trollwood Park Amphitheatre and Barn Stage. If you’d like to have a toast to the happy couple at Urban Plains Park Shelters, Rheault Farm or the Trollwood Park's Mega Shelter, West Gazebo, or Art Mart you will need to fill out a Group Consumption Permit for an additional $50 fee. No glass bottles, hard alcohol or kegs are allowed

When planning the time of day for your wedding, keep in mind the time needed for set up and clean up. All sites are rented for full-days.

The natural beauty that will surround your venue provides a picturesque backdrop for your happy day. The same lovely scenery that has drawn you to have your wedding in this place also inspires members of the public to enjoy a day in the park. There may be neighborhood children playing at the playground, families enjoying a round of disc golf or friends taking a stroll through the park throughout the day. Please keep in mind that your rental does not promise you exclusive access to the park.
