Ready to thread the needle and start your sewing journey?

Sewing 101 is the perfect class for beginners (ages 16+) who want to learn essential sewing skills in a fun, supportive environment. Over five one-hour sessions, you'll learn how to use a sewing machine, read a simple pattern, and practice basic techniques like straight stitching, hemming, and seam finishing. By the end of the course, you’ll complete two small projects. No experience required. All tools and materials provided.

Arts & Culture

Explore our youth programs centered on Arts & Culture, designed to foster creative expression and deepen cultural understanding. Through hands-on artistic experiences and cultural exploration, participants discover their voice, build confidence, and expand their perspectives in safe and welcoming spaces.

Programs in this area fall within three categories: Art Expression, Craft & Make, and Culture & Heritage. Together, these experiences encourage creativity, self-expression, and meaningful engagement with diverse artistic and cultural traditions.

Playtown

Get ready for a summer full of fun at Fargo Parks’ Playtown. Designed for children ages 5–12, this engaging day camp offers a variety of recreational activities that keep kids active, social, and entertained all summer long.

Playtown features two separate sessions, one in June and one in July. Campers can attend one to four weeks per session. Registration discounts will apply for campers who attend multiple weeks during a single session.

Nerf Wars

Get ready to experience the heart-pounding world of Nerf Wars, where foam darts fly, alliances are formed, and epic battles take place. The battleground? Metro Rec Center should give us plenty of room to dodge obstacles, strategize with teammates, and celebrate a win! 

Participation fee for each session is $19.00. Registration is separate for each session date and on an individual basis. Hit up all your friends and sign up soon as spots are limited and sure to fill up fast.

Social & Play

Explore our youth programs centered on Social & Play, designed to strengthen social connections and promote a sense of belonging through inclusive collaboration, accessible play, and welcoming shared experiences. Through shared activities and group-based fun, participants build friendships, practice teamwork, and enjoy time together in positive, supportive spaces.
