Discover birding with Fargo Parks! Whether you're a beginner eager to learn or a seasoned birder looking to explore new spots, our birding programs are a great way to connect with nature, build community, and enjoy the outdoors. Led by knowledgeable guides, these sessions offer the chance to identify a variety of local and migratory birds while visiting some of the best birding locations in the region.

Nature & Outdoors

Explore our youth programs centered on Nature and the Outdoors, designed to spark curiosity and deepen connection to the natural world. Through hands-on learning and outdoor experiences, participants build practical skills, explore natural spaces, and develop an appreciation for environmental care and stewardship.

Programs in this area fall within three categories: Education, Adventure, and Field Sports. Together, these experiences encourage exploration, outdoor skill development, and meaningful engagement with the natural world.

Coaches

We are currently recruiting coaches for the inaugural Fargo Park District High School Girls Flag Football program! This season runs from mid-April, with weekly practices leading up to games and the championship in early June before graduation. If you are passionate about working with young athletes and helping grow girls flag football locally and statewide, we’d love to have you on our coaching team.

Adaptive Adventures

Enjoy weekly activities designed specifically for adults (18+) with cognitive disabilities, including those who may also have physical disabilities. Activities include sports, creative arts, games, and social events - designed to promote fun, fitness, and connection in a supportive environment.

Human Resources Internship

Explore the people-focused side of Parks and Recreation through Human Resources. Gain hands-on experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, payroll processes, employee engagement, and HR systems while collaborating on projects such as internship programming and policy updates. This position builds a strong foundation in Human Resources, communication, and organizational skills.
