Maintenance and operations teams are responsible for clearing snow on 90+ miles of trails and sidewalks, over 30 acres of parking lots and the entrances of 40+ buildings and facilities. Trails are cleared by pickup and plow or a tractor and blower depending on the severity of the storm and level of snow fall. Typically, all routes are cleared in eight hours, but large amounts of snow and high winds can sometimes complicate and delay the process. Once the crew has finished the entire route, they will start at the beginning again to make sure ridges from the City of Fargo plows and drifting snow is removed.
