NOVICE PATCH: Novice Patch is the next progressive step for skaters who have completed Level 6. Skaters will work on Novice Patch Level 7 and 8.Students are taught the fundamentals of free skate, dance and moves in the field.
- In order to complete Novice Patch Level 7 the skater must be able to:
- Open mohawk
- Backward outside to a forward outside transition on the circle
- Landing position
- Beginning scratch spin
- Ballet jump
- In order to complete Novice Patch Level 8 the skater must be able to:
- On the circle, forward outside 3-turn
- On the circle, forward inside 3-turn
- Stand still waltz jump
- Mazurka
- Combination move
- Forward inside pivot
- In order to complete Novice Patch Dance Level 1 the skater must be able to:
- Forward consecutive swing rolls: 4 count
- Forward consecutive swing rolls: 6 count
- Forward consecutive progressives: 4 count
- Forward consecutive progressives: 6 count
- Forward consecutive chasses: 4 count
- Forward consecutive chasses: 6 count
- Killian hold
- In order to complete Novice Patch Dance Level 2 the skater must be able to:
- Forward consecutive slide chasses: 4 count
- Cross strokes
- Forward consecutive inside swing rolls: 4 count
- Right cross behind, left cross behind & right cross behind
- Backward consecutive swing rolls: 4 count
- Backward consecutive swing rolls: 6 count
- Backward consecutive progressives: 4 count
- Backward consecutive progressives: 6 count
- In order to complete Novice Patch Freestyle Level 1 the skater must be able to:
- Advanced forward stroking
- Forward consecutive outside edges
- Forward consecutive inside edges
- Scratch spin from back crossovers
- Waltz jump from back crossovers
- Half flip
- On circle, back outside 3-turn
- In order to complete Novice Patch Freestyle Level 2 the skater must be able to:
- Backward consecutive outside edges
- Backward consecutive inside edges
- Waltz jump, side toe hop & waltz jump
- Toe loop
- Waltz threes
- Back spin
- Forward and backward cross overs in a figure eight pattern
- Salchow
- In order to complete Novice Patch Freestyle Level 3 the skater must be able to:
- Half lutz
- Waltz jump toe loop
- Salchow toe loop
- On a circle, back inside 3-turn
- Back spin, 3 revolution
- Waltz eight
- Sit spin
