Food Vendor Application Process

Those wishing to participate as a food vendor at the Island Park Show (IPS) must complete an application form, provide required documentation, and submit payment prior to the event.

The application to be a food vendor opens November 1 of the prior year.

All food vendor applications are reviewed to ensure a balanced variety of offerings and a high-quality experience for attendees.

  • Applications are due by 12:00 AM on June 1 to be included in the first round of acceptances
  • Applications submitted after June 1 may be reviewed if space is available and additional variety is needed
  • Application decisions are sent by June 24 or within 4 weeks for late applicants
  • All applications must be submitted electronically
  • All food vendors must apply annually

Admission Considerations

Admission priority is based upon, but not limited to:

  • Variety and uniqueness of menu offerings
  • Ability to meet event needs and avoid duplication of similar food items
  • Space availability within the event layout
  • Completeness of application and menu details
  • Vendor’s history with IPS (including attendance, conduct, and timely payment)

Food Vendor Requirements

All accepted food vendors are responsible for meeting applicable health and safety requirements.

  • Vendors must obtain all required permits and licenses for food service
  • Vendors must comply with local health department regulations
  • A valid Certificate of Liability Insurance is required, listing Fargo Park District as additional insured
  • All food must be prepared, handled, and served in a safe and sanitary manner
  • Vendors are responsible for their own:
    • Equipment and setup
    • Power needs (unless otherwise arranged)
    • Waste disposal and booth cleanliness

Additional requirements and details will be provided upon acceptance.

Day-of Event Expectations (Food Vendors)

  • Vendors must be set up and ready to serve by event start time
  • Booths must remain open for the full duration of the event (no early teardown)
  • Vendors are expected to maintain a clean, safe, and organized space
  • Staff should provide friendly and efficient service to attendees
  • Vendors must follow all event rules and staff direction

Operations & Event Notes

  • Food vendors purchase a booth space and retain all sales revenue
  • Menu items and pricing may be reviewed to ensure alignment with event needs
  • The Fargo Park District reserves the right to:
    • Limit duplicate vendors or menu items
    • Adjust placement based on operational needs
    • Enforce all event rules and guidelines
