You might have noticed…things look a little different here. We are excited to officially launch our brand refresh initiative including a refreshed logo and new color palette. We loved our old logo and colors and we know you did too, so we wanted to explain why we felt like it was time for a change.
The Fargo Park District has been around since 1910. Since then, we’ve had a few logos but our most recent was created back in 2006… almost 18-years ago. That means our logo was older than most of our seasonal staff! It was distinctive and playful and included multiple colors, a sun representing the “O” and a river along the “G” in the word Fargo. At the time, it was a great representation of the playful and fun nature of the Park District.
However, we’ve grown and changed a lot in the last 18 years and so has our community. We felt it was important that our brand identity grow and evolve too.
Our new logo incorporates many familiar aspects of the old one, including the three iconic evergreen trees, which are representative of three real trees found in Island Park. However, we are confident that our updated design choices increase readability and modernize the current logo while still maintaining the brand identity our community already knows.
While we loved our spunky and fun array of colors in our previous logo, we developed a new color palette which was carefully chosen to honor the natural resources prevalent in parks and green spaces and to evoke a sense of energy and enthusiasm. We feel our new colors mirror the Park District’s commitment to providing memorable experiences and beautiful outdoor spaces for the entire community to enjoy.
We won’t bore you with the nitty gritty details of a brand refresh, but we did want to make sure you knew that the Park District might look a bit different over the next few months as our teams work to align around the new logo and colors. Our website is already along for the ride, but we will continue to slowly and progressively integrate the refresh across all Park District communication channels and facilities, including digital platforms, signage, marketing materials and staff uniforms. Don’t worry, it won’t be all at once! We plan to take things slow for a bit.
We have big plans and a bright future ahead of us, Fargo. We are so thankful for you, our community, and all your support. We can’t wait to continue to create and share memories with you every single day.
