Bid Awarded for Winter Tree Pruning

As part of the consent agenda, Commissioners voted 5-0 to award a bid for winter tree pruning to Carr’s Tree Service in the amount of $62,780.

Staff opened all winter tree pruning bids on October 17 at 1:00 p.m. Two bids were received, with staff recommending Carr’s Tree Service as it met all specifications, was the lowest bid and is within budgeted amount of $70,000.

Winter tree pruning is an essential part of winter tree care. During the winter months, trees are in their dormant phase, which minimizes stress on the tree and reduces the risk of disease transmission. Cold temperatures keep insects and pathogens at bay, which lowers the chance of infection in the freshly pruned branches. Winter pruning also helps improve the trees’ structure and encourages healthy growth when spring arrives.

Tree pruning will occur at the following locations: Elephant Park, El Zagal Golf Course, Island Park, Jack Williams Stadium, Lindenwood Park, Oak Grove Park, Trefoil Park and Trollwood Park.

Bid Awarded for Roger G. Gress Northside Pool Pump Replacement Project

As part of the consent agenda, Commissioners voted 5-0 to award a bid for the Roger G. Gress Northside Pool pump replacement project to Associated Pool Builders in the amount of $99,750.

Staff opened bids for the project on October 17 at 1:30 p.m. One bid was received from Associated Pool Builders, with staff recommending the bid be accepted. The bid met all specifications and funds will come from the Fargo Park District reserve funds.

Current pool pumps are outdated, undersized and past their projected lifespan. The project is expected to be completed by December 31, 2024.
