The Fargo Park District is bringing the fields and courts to local parks this summer with the new Neighborhood Sports Series program. The series kicks-off on Tuesday, June 6 from 1:30 – 3:30 pm at Kennedy Park. The Neighborhood Sports Series aims to create a safe and fun environment where children can develop their athletic skills, build confidence and foster teamwork.
To ensure the program is accessible to all families and children in the community, there is no fee to participate and registration is not required. This summer’s activities include: football toss, free throw challenge, 4-square, Tri-City United soccer camp, Courts Plus youth fitness class and more.
The series will continue through June and July at a different neighborhood park:
-
June 6, 1:30 – 3:30 pm: Kennedy Park (4501 42nd Street S, Fargo)
-
July 11, 1:30 – 3:30 pm: Clara Barton Park (1451 6th Street S, Fargo)
-
July 25, 1:30 – 3:30 pm: Madison Park and Bicycle Playground (3010 11th Avenue N, Fargo)
The series is designed to cater to children of all ages and skill levels and provides a wide range of sports options and instruction.
“We are thrilled to offer a sports program that is accessible to all children in the community,” says Stephanie D’Ambrosio, Fargo Park District Events Manager. “We believe empowering children through sports can help them develop valuable life skills and provide a foundation for a healthy and active lifestyle. We wanted to make sure that every child who wanted to participate could, which is why we prioritized not including a fee.”
