Strategic Plan timeline and funding

Park Board Commissioners voted 5-0 to approve the timeline and funding of an ongoing Fargo Park District Strategic Plan.

The Strategic Plan is an effort to establish a clear and concise vision that will move the District forward by creating measurable goals and objectives to reach overall desired outcomes. The process will include close collaboration between commissioners, directors, employees and stakeholders and include the following timeline:

  • Request for Proposals advertised – July 26, August 2, August 9, 2023

  • Request for Proposals released – July 26, 2023

  • Request for Proposals closes – August 18, 2023

  • Interviews – September 6 to 8, 2023

  • Presentation at Facilities Committee Meeting – September 20, 2023

  • Board to vote at regular Board Meeting – October 3, 2023

City of Fargo Right of Way (ROW) Acquistion for 44th Street

Park Board Commissioners heard information regarding a City of Fargo Right of Way (ROW) Acquisition for 44th Street.  The item was tabled and Commissioners directed staff to continue to work with the City of Fargo and EPIC to look at other options which could either eliminate or reduce the financial impact to the Park District.

A ROW is the act of acquiring land or easements to complete a project. Over the last two years, the Fargo Park District has worked closely with the City of Fargo and EPIC Companies on a potential road ROW at the Anderson/Tharaldson Complex. The initial request was to build a public road that would go through the complex, which was not supported by the Park District for a variety of reasons. The most recent proposal instead suggests a potential public road on the east side of EPIC’s development and the far west side of Park District property.
