Head to your local parks during the month of July to celebrate National Park and Recreation Month! This July, join the Fargo Park District, Moorhead Parks & Recreation and West Fargo Park District, as we celebrate the essential role of park and recreation in providing services that are vital to a healthy metro.
Park and Recreation Month is a national initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) to promote building strong, vibrant and resilient communities through the power of local parks and recreation agencies. According to the NRPA, six in seven U.S. adults look forward to outdoor activities this summer and various research studies are confirming that community parks and recreation, green spaces and time outdoors are critical for creating healthy, active and sustainable communities.
Parks are at the center of so many experiences and memories. Our local parks are often our first experiences in nature, our introduction to a favorite hobby or physical activity. They are places to gather with friends and family, spaces to celebrate life’s special moments, spots of respite and healing, sites that connect us with essential community services, and so much more.
Join us to share your parks and rec story!
