The roof of a new shelter at a park

The Lions Conservancy Park recently completed a series of exciting upgrades, thanks in part to a grant from the North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department’s Recreational Trails Program. This project, known as the Trailhead Facility Improvement, focused on enhancing the trail system connecting Lions Conservancy Park to Iwen Park. These upgrades aim to improve accessibility, functionality, and overall user experience for park visitors.

Key improvements include the construction of a brand-new parking lot designed to meet growing capacity needs, ensuring visitors have convenient access to the trails. A new shelter was also added, providing a welcoming space for picnics and rest stops. Additionally, 1.5 miles of crushed gravel trail were built, offering a smooth and scenic path for walkers, runners, and cyclists. To round out the upgrades, a new trailhead sign was installed and the restroom facilities were modernized to provide greater convenience for all park visitors.

These enhancements reflect the Park District's commitment to creating a more enjoyable and inclusive outdoor experience. With these improvements, the trail system is better equipped to serve the community, encouraging more people to explore and appreciate the natural beauty of the area. Whether you’re a regular visitor or new to the trails, these upgrades are sure to elevate your next adventure.
