The Fargo Park District is opening their five outdoor pools for the summer on Monday, June 7 at 1:00 pm. The outdoor pools set to open include Island Park Pool, Madison Pool & Splash Pad, Davies Recreational Pool, Southwest Recreation Pool and the newly renamed Roger G. Gress Northside Pool.
Additionally, on June 7, a naming ceremony is set to be held at Fargo’s Northside Recreational Pool. This ceremony officially renames the pool after longtime Executive Director of the Fargo Park District, Roger G. Gress, renaming it Roger G. Gress Northside Pool. Gress retired from the Fargo Park District at the end of 2016 with a total of 36 years of service under his belt. One of Gress’ first major projects as Park Director in 1997 was the construction of the neighborhood outdoor pool near North High School.
The Roger G. Gress Northside Pool Dedication Ceremony starts at 11:30 am serving free hot dogs and Pepsi products, followed by a short program at 12:30 pm and pools open for the season at 1:00 pm. Pool admission is free all day at Roger G. Gress Northside Pool.
Summer admission rates for all Fargo Park District Pools are:
- Island Park Pool and Madison Pool & Splash Pad - youth ages 18 and under $2.75 per session and adults 19 and over $4.00 per session.
- Davies Recreational Pool, Roger G. Gress Northside Pool and Southwest Recreation Pool - youth ages 18 and under $3.75 per session and adults 19 and over $5.00 per session.
Concessions are available at Roger G. Gress Northside Pool, Southwest Recreation Pool, Davies Recreational Pool and Island Park Pool. Concession stands and pool admissions accept all major credit cards, Apple Pay and Android. Following the ND Smart Restart Guidelines, we recommend that individuals arrive in their swimsuits and deck chairs are spaced out to keep social distancing in mind.
Davies Recreational Pool is located at 7150 25th Street S. Roger G. Gress Northside Pool is located at 824 19th Avenue N. Southwest Recreation Pool is located at 1840 15th Avenue S. Madison Pool & Splash Pad is located at 1040 29th Street N. Island Park Pool is located at 616 1st Avenue S.
