The Fargo Park District is pleased to announce the hiring of Jayne Gust as the next deputy director of administration, effective June 17, 2024. Gust brings extensive leadership experience in public relations, community engagement and organizational strategy.
Most recently, Gust held several key positions at Sanford Health, including Director of Community Relations and Public Affairs Director. While at Sanford, Gust was integral in cultivating strategic communication and community relationships and enhancing the organization’s public image.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jayne to our leadership team,” says Susan Faus, Fargo Park District executive director. “Her extensive experience and strategic vision will be invaluable as we continue to enhance the services and experiences we offer to our community. I am confident she will bring us to new heights in driving our mission forward.”
In her role as Deputy Director of Administration, Gust will oversee several critical areas including finance, human resources, IT, marketing, sales, golf pro shops, Fargo Parks Sports Center, and Valley Senior Services and play a pivotal role in shaping overall strategy for the park district. She will work closely with both the executive director and deputy director of operations.
“I am elated to join the dynamic team at the Fargo Park District,” says Gust. “In learning more about this organization and position, I realized how fortunate our community is to have a vibrant park system that continues to innovate and create opportunities for people of all ages. These offerings are also being increasingly supported by business and civic leaders in the community because they see the importance of wellness offerings for those they employ and serve. I am very thankful for this opportunity, and I look forward to growing with the Fargo Park District team and the greater Fargo community.”
Gust holds both a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from North Dakota State University (NDSU). While at NDSU, Gust was a member of the Women’s Basketball team where she was named NCAA Division II Player of Year, Kodak All-American, and Honda Broderick Female Athlete of the Year.
Gust lives in Fargo with her husband Mike, daughters Addyson (14) and Elyn (11), and twin boys Graham (9) and Jude (9). The Gusts are an active family and avid users of the Fargo Parks, including Courts Plus, various golf courses and numerous community parks.
Gust steps into the role following the promotion of Susan Faus to executive director in December of 2023.
