Following last year’s successful community mural at Island Park, the Fargo Park District is inviting the public to help transform the Dike West basketball court into its next public art installation in celebration of National Parks and Recreation Month.
On Thursday, July 17, community members ages 8 and up are encouraged to stop by the Dike West Park (310 4th St. S., Fargo) anytime between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to participate in painting a large-scale, paint-by-number mural. No artistic experience is required. Participants will be guided by a mural template, with all supplies and paint provided.
“This project is about more than just painting; it’s about bringing people together and creating something lasting for the community,” said Kylie Kanwischer, Fargo Park District marketing and communications specialist. “We’re excited to celebrate Parks and Recreation Month in such a hands-on, creative way.”
Participants are asked to wear paint-friendly clothes. To celebrate the completed mural, the Fargo Park District will host a Movie on the Court event on Wednesday, July 23 at 6 p.m., featuring a free screening of Space Jam: A New Legacy.
