The Fargo Park District was recently awarded two grants from the ND Forestry Council.

The Reforest the Red Grant from the North Dakota Forest Service is in partnership with the City of Fargo and River Keepers. The grant allows the Fargo Park District to plant 3,000 trees and shrubs along the Red River near Lindenwood Park.

The second grant awarded to the Fargo Park District was the North Dakota Forest Service Program Development grant. This grant will help remove invasive buckthorn and help plant desirable shrubs and trees in wooded areas just south of Stone Bridge #2.

Grants may be awarded to North Dakota public entities including counties, townships, cities, park districts, school districts and tribal equivalents. All tree planting projects must be located on publicly owned property.

Lindenwood Park is located at 19056 Roger Maris Drive and Stone Bridge #2 is located at 3520 32nd Street S. For more information, contact the Fargo Park District at 701-499-6060 or visit FargoParks.com.
